PHL thanks world for Yolanda recovery efforts with 1-min video

With a one-minute video, the Philippines thanked the world for the help it extended for Typhoon Yolanda relief.

The Department of Tourism, spread word of the “thank you” video through its networking accounts Saturday.

'Big thank you'
"The Philippines wants to say a big thank you to every one who has been helping us rebuild after Typhoon Haiyan... (The world) has been one with the Philippines in helping rebuild the nation - from sending relief goods, doing medical missions, all the way to pledging funds for the reconstruction of infrastructure," read a message accompanying the video posted on the ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.com website.

February 8 marks three months after the typhoon devastated the Visayas and Southern Luzon, and left more than 6,200 dead.

"We are Filipinos. We are resilient, grateful, and fun-loving people. And that's why even as we are still recovering, we already want to show our thanks," the message read further.

Filipinos were also urged to use the templates, posted online, and write a "thank you" note to the world for the volunteers, donations, pledges, and everything in between, then post the image on the DOT Facebook page or tag @DOTphilippines on Twitter.

Unified Registration form for Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and SSS

by Samuel Medenilla (MANILA BULLETIN)
December 5, 2013

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has launched its unified registration system (URS) for “kasambahays.”
DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said in a statement that with the URS operational, they expect higher compliance with the Kasambahay Law.
She said this will ensure the country’s estimated 2.9 million household service workers (HSWs) will have the necessary social protection mandated by law.
“This will facilitate and streamline registration and facilitation processes through further refinement of the Kasambahay URS which would ultimately lead to household employers and domestic workers availing of our services and other programs wherever they are and at their own free time,” Baldoz said.
Under the URS, which was launched Tuesday, employers would only have to accomplish one form to register their HSWs at the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth.
“The three agencies will share the data and issue their respective membership identification numbers to the registrants. The registration is the proverbial three-in-one,” Baldoz said.
Baldoz said employers and HSWs could obtain the form in any offices or websites of the three said agencies.
The three-paged form includes the Household Employer Unified Registration Form, Kasambahay Unified Registration Form, and the Household Employment Unified Report Form.
